Looks like the file changed upstream.

Set your GENTOO_MIRRORS to a proper value.

Please do not suggest such things. This is not a solution. The solution is to update the mirrors with the changed tarball.

It would avoid having these problems and solve other ones like excessive load on upstream distribution.

AFAIK portage uses by default the mirrors even if you have not set one in your make.conf. And having a broken tarball in the mirrors should not be workarounded by allowing people to use it.
