Please consider using readme.gentoo.eclass for the following postinst message:

You can set the version to be started by /usr/bin/ctags through
the ctags eselect module. "man ctags.eselect" for details.

As far as I can tell from reading ctags-5.8-r1.ebuild, it's already been taken care of. Closing.
