Hi there, I wish to get this ebuild into portage. I'm also signing up as a new developer. My details are in a previous ebuild of mine which can be found here: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48266 This ebuild is for the original NetPIPE application which is a tool to perform network benchmarks. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.

if i understood the homepage correctly this is not _really_ the original version but an improved one with MPI (GM, InfiniBand, ...) added. i recently had an "all to quick" look at the mpi-version (mpich ch_p4) but can't remember any result -- as i said: it was quick :| maybe we should add a MPI'ified version to portage (my messy version can be posted if desired). the posted one above should at least use MY_P instead of hardcoded names in 2 places.
Well, I call it the "original" one because I see we have another netpipe app in portage which is different from the one I was using under debian since years ago. Anyway I'll fix the MY_P thing and make so that the mpi version is compiled and installed too. I'll post an updated ebuild soon. Thanks.
any news?
(In reply to comment #5) > any news? > If I recall correctly, I added this ebuild because the so called netpipe ebuild in portage was not what I considered the real netpipe which really is a tool to perform network benchmarks and do bulk data transfers through the network. I don't have an updated portage tree handy but, last time I looked for it (a few months ago), I found the "good" netpipe was in portage so I think you might just want to check that and close this bug as INVALID or WONTFIX.
