(Only) when I create a bug report AND attach a file immediately (during the initial bug report) there is no pop-up menu for selecting the MIME type of the
attachment contrary to the situation when I create an attachment lateron.

Excuse me for being lazy not changing the MIME type lateron.

Um, can you please attach a screenshot of the add attachment block? Mine allows you to select a MIME type.

that isn't a full screenshot ... the sides have all been chopped off.

does this still happen ?  if so, can you post a full screenshot ?  and can you look at the javascript console to see if there's an error in there ?  in Chrome, you can press ctrl+shift+j to display it.
