In order to run, app-office/openoffice-ximian-bin requires libssl-0.9.6

hence, needs to be compiled with the latest marked stable libssl-0.9.7

What is your problem exactly, I have no traces of openssl-0.9.6 left on my computer and ooo-ximian-bin works without problems for me. And about recompile: That won't work, as we are not providing the binaries ourselves...

when i run the /usr/bin/xoosetup or xoowriter, etc, for the first time, all I see before a quit, is something about libssl-0.9.6 not found... and quit. nothing else.

ah. oh well. :-/

Still can't reproduce this, no new info, so closing this
