Description Forza 2004-05-02 18:51:17 UTC
It seem as Midnight Commander does not support copying files larger than 2GB over FTP links. Any file that is larger than 2GB is displayed as 2048MB in the view and the copy process stops after 2GB.

This all works fine with local files, or over SMB.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:

i think this is a more general issue, we have to compile the programs with largefile support
Comment 2 Forza 2004-05-24 08:18:28 UTC
Yes, largefile support is one thing, and it is activated. It is only for FTP transfers (the actual file size view when transfering/listing files). For local files it does work with current settings/configuration.

Perhaps it is "largefile support" or it is something specific in the FTP part/module of Midnight Commander?
Comment 3 Heinrich Wendel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-08-02 01:19:43 UTC
maybe it's an limitation of the ftp server?
Comment 4 Forza 2004-08-02 07:23:57 UTC
The ftp server is Pure-FTPd which runs with large file support. There is no problem using another FTP client (like SmartFTP) and using large files.

there is a largefile patch in mc-4.6.0-r11, can you please test this one
Comment 6 Heinrich Wendel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-09-21 06:09:11 UTC
it's still not fixed, but it's an upstream bug, if you find a patch please reopen
