Description Dustin C. Hatch 2014-01-11 02:20:49 UTC
Busybox udhcpc is unable to open an Internet socket in order to configure the network using DHCP when SELINUX=enforcing and SELINUXTYPE=strict.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Configure conf.d/net to use udhcpc for DHCP on an interface
2. Enable SELinux with SELINUX=enforcing and SELINUXTYPE=strict
3. Start the network
Actual Results:
udhcpc does not start and prints this message:
udhcpc: socket(AF_INET,3,255): Permission denied

Expected Results:
udhcpc should start and configure the network interface just like dhcpcd does.

We need to have the busybox binary transition to the dhcpc_t domain. Does it use a separate binary or is it all symbolic links? Or a wrapper script?

Will do, sorry. I've switched my hardened machines to dhcpcd since it "just works" and I haven't had the opportunity to try out busybox again recently.

I think netifrc calls "/bin/busybox udhcpc" but I am not positive. Busybox is a single, (usually) statically-linked executable that contains all of its commands. I'll try to get more info soon.
