Add the following line to all openoffice ebuils:

mysql? dev-java/jdbc-mysql

Just a question to make it more clear: This is necessary for which functionality?

This is an "optional" runtime dependency. In other words, you can install it yourself when you want it and without any support from the openoffice ebuild. It will just work. As there are other ways (odbc) to use mysql, I don't think that this dependency should be added.
