The "album" package is written in perl and is platform independent. It should run without modifications on any gentoo system - but the gentoo package list shows it as only x86. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Look at the album gentoo package. 2. 3. Actual Results: I was awful sad. Expected Results: It should have told the truth, not lies, horrible horrible lies. ;) I wrote the thing, I should know.
Packages shouldn't be keyworded for an arch unless they've actually been tested on that arch, no matter how safe you think they might be. Please assign bugs to individual arch teams after you have actually tested the package and all its dependencies on those archs.
Are you serious? It's a perl script. It has *no* arch dependencies. If it's *nix and it runs perl, it can run album. There are millions of pages on the web that are generated by this script. And you want me to open 7 identical bugs just to get this fixed? Is this how you handle all your packages? I don't even use gentoo, I just want your users to be able to have access to the script through your package management tool.
Yes, I'm serious. I can't mark this as ~mips, for example, because of dependency issues. Things don't get marked for an arch without testing.
It's ok to have a metabug that tracks keywording for archs. The bug reporter shouldn't have been told to file multiple bugs for this package. Add arch addresses if desired but this needs to be followed up on.
I'm told I need to list the working architectures. The working architectures are '*' If that's not clear enough, then how about I spell it out: x86, PPC, PPC64, Sparc, MIPS, Alpha, Arm, HPPA, amd64, ia64.
Hi, I just emerged this package on a sparc64 and it works like a charm. The ~sparc keyword can probably be safely added.
media-gfx/album/album-2.52.ebuild works here on amd64. I will therefore open a new bug for adding the amd64 flag...
tested and added ~ppc64 keyword to this ebuilds: media-gfx/jhead-2.2 media-gfx/album-3.05 Markus
media-gfx/album-3.05 works on amd64
(In reply to comment #9) > media-gfx/album-3.05 works on amd64 CCing.

Tested in pitr, made myself a nice album with random pics from gentoo.org. :-) ~amd64 added to 3.07, thanks for reporting.
