This is a curious bug since all versions of rdoc in the tree have always been newer than 2.4.2. Something else must be going on. Perhaps you did not have rdoc installed at all? Or some other versions somewhere outside of Gentoo? Can you still reproduce this?

Sorry, I got this bug out of sight.

rdoc was installed all the time and I didn't install anything not in portage.

But in the meantime there were many updates and at any point the package emerged without error.

Close the bug please, because I can't give you any more information what happened.
