It compiles fine but doesn't display the image for me... :/
Have you tested this programm, or do you only have compiled it successfully ?
Comment 2 Danny van Dyk (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-05-10 14:24:19 UTC
ping ? Did you run it, or did you only compile it ?
I will mark this BUG as INVALID at the end of the month if there is still no answer...
Comment 3 andrew lorien 2004-05-11 03:29:48 UTC
[sorry, i stoopidly repied to the bugs-daemon]

it works fine, it's been drawing my desktop for ten days. i've got it in ummm /etc/X11/gdm/Init/Default, i've logged out and recompiled my kernel a couple of times, it's all good.

if you're running gnome, have you told it not to use nautilus to draw the desktop? you have to find the key in gconf-editor and untick it...
Comment 4 Danny van Dyk (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-05-15 02:56:12 UTC
i don't use gnome at all, haven't even installed it here... so someone else has to try.

LV: would you be so kind ? *beg* ;-)
Comment 5 Danny van Dyk (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-05-15 04:33:50 UTC
Ooops, sorry. I accidently marked this one FIXED..., REOPENED now.
Comment 6 Jason Huebel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-05-21 12:29:45 UTC
What flavor of X are you running? xfree or xorg-x11?
Comment 7 andrew lorien 2004-05-23 01:36:35 UTC
xfree 4.3.0-r5
the way to test it, really, is to run
xearth -noroot

if you get an xwindow with a picture of the earth in it, then it's working.
Comment 8 Danny van Dyk (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-05-23 03:38:53 UTC
He, that hint would have better been in the bug report from the beginning ;-)
It works for me, so I'll mark it ~amd64.
