Description Xavier Miller (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2013-12-12 20:43:17 UTC
I have a netbook with the ~x86 arch, assisted by an ~amd64 cross-distcc server.

dev-vcs/subversion has segfaults on checkout and updates if I use cross-distcc, but runs OK if I compile it only on the ~x86.

dev-vcs/subversion-1.7.14 USE="dso nls webdav-neon -apache2 -berkdb -ctypes-python -debug -doc -extras -gnome-keyring -java -kde -perl -python -ruby -sasl {-test} -vim-syntax -webdav-serf" PYTHON_TARGETS="python2_7 -python2_6"

Reproducible: Always

1) Could you attach a gdb backtrace of one of those segmentation faults, please?
2) Also, please attach the entire build log to this bug report.
Comment 3 Xavier Miller (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2013-12-13 14:10:59 UTC
How can I provide a "gdb backtrace"?

I can use strace, is it also OK?
Comment 4 Xavier Miller (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2013-12-13 14:18:28 UTC
OK I see how to do it.

You will get the needed info this evening.
Comment 5 Xavier Miller (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2013-12-13 16:00:38 UTC
It seems it crashes only when using SSH

Here is the backtrace:

What happens if you remove -mtune=generic or replace it with something specific?
Comment 8 Xavier Miller (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2013-12-14 19:05:33 UTC
This were the flags GCC gave me for "-march=native -mtune=native", for that ATOM N270.
Comment 9 Thomas Sachau gentoo-dev 2013-12-15 10:17:35 UTC
Well, the only suggestions i can give you are to:
- check that the gcc on both computers is the same
- try something else than mtune=generic

Beside that i cant support any distcc setup since i dont have such setup to test myself.

Hello,

I changed CFLAGS to "-march=atom -mtune=atom", but it still segfaults if it is cross-distcc'ed.
Comment 11 Thomas Sachau gentoo-dev 2016-08-06 17:03:18 UTC
Since this report is about a version removed from the tree for a long time, i will close this bug as obsolete.

Please open a new bug, if you can reproduce it with a current version.
