Please add busybox option to the handbook at section 6. busybox can be use by archs that cannot use systemd alternative. And busybox have a stable version for all archs supported by gentoo. http://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/OpenRC#OpenRC_Busybox_Integration I won't try to make the paragraph myself, not because i'm lazzy, but i trust more the skill of doc team members to produce something appropriate. Thank you. Reproducible: Always
(See bugs 493230 and bug 493190 for more context on why I'm closing this bug.) I do not really like this attempt to drag the GDP into the general systemd bashing. We're documenting stuff which makes sense and which will benefit a lot of users. Switching to systemd is one such thing, if only due to the Gnome upstream decision. I do not really see switching to an OpenRC+Busybox hybrid as something even remotely comparable. When you have something which works reasonably well and can be added as a drop-in replacement for the init system, be sure to attach a patch and reopen this bug. The GDP won't do this homework for you, though.
Where do i've put anything pro/against systemd in that bugreport? Because your first paragraph is doing it, not me. I could do the paragraph myself, but not the patch. Openrc, busybox or systemd aren't out of bugs. And until fix, systemd cannot work on gentoo without openrc too... So, should i try to create the paragraph or you just gave fallacious reasons to balance the real one given at first phrase ?
