octave doesnt compile with gcc 3.1
RedHat's Limbo beta has a patch to compile it with gcc 3.1... It should probably
be applied to gentoo's version too...

gcc3 patch from rh

I'm attaching just the patch.. taken directly from rh's rpm
the whole source rpm can be found at
ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/beta/limbo/en/os/i386/SRPMS/octave-2.1.36-4.src.rpm

The patch is against 2.1.36
Comment 3 Seemant Kulleen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-07-13 17:34:38 UTC
yeah, we _NEED_ the newer "beta" octave in portage. this current version is
horribly old.
Comment 4 Nick Hadaway 2002-07-15 11:41:00 UTC
added octave-2.1.36 into portage.
