It seems that both packages provide y4mscaler and so you get: * Detected file collision(s): * * /usr/bin/y4mscaler * /usr/share/man/man1/y4mscaler.1.bz2 It looks to me like y4mscaler has been absorbed by mjpegtools, so maybe just a mutual blocker. Reproducible: Always
Or treeclean y4mscaler? There are no updates for it since 2005.

On my box, only package dependent on on media-video/y4mscaler is media-plugins/vdr-xine. Mjpegtools probably started to provide functionality of y4mscaler, so the dependency could be removed?

On MjpegTools mailing list i found this post Re: [Mjpeg-users] Just to be sure y4mscaler is integrated into mjpegtools-2.1.0 ? http://sourceforge.net/p/mjpeg/mailman/message/31665553/ ".... You are correct. We (to be honest Steven did all the work) have integrated y4mscaler into the mjpegtools so you have it available. If you have y4mscaler on your system before please remove it. ....." So I also think that the dependency in media-plugins/vdr-xine should be removed. L.Chiampo
Created attachment 369326 [details, diff] Proposed Patch for vdr-xine ebuild I think this could solve the problem (after unmerging y4mscaler of course)
@media-tv: are you okay with changing the dependency for vdr-xine so y4mscaler can be removed from the tree.

I took the liberty to remove the dependency on y4mscaler so at least the blocker is gone for now.
y4mscaler dropped
