Description Peter Simons 2004-04-28 06:03:13 UTC
I just tried to emerge "sys-kernel/hardened-sources-2.4.24-r3" but get the following error from portage:

research:/etc# emerge -vu hardened-sources
Calculating dependencies ...done!
>>> emerge (1 of 1) sys-kernel/hardened-sources-2.4.24-r3 to /
>>> md5 src_uri ;-) linux-2.4.24.tar.bz2
>>> md5 src_uri ;-) hardened-sources-2.4.24-base.patch.bz2

!!! No message digest entry found for file "hardened-sources-2.4.24-grsec.patch.bz2."
!!! Most likely a temporary problem. Try 'emerge sync' again later.
!!! If you are certain of the authenticity of the file then you may type
!!! the following to generate a new digest:
!!!   ebuild /usr/portage/category/package/package-version.ebuild digest

I called "emerge sync" twice yesterday and again today, but it doesn't make a difference, so I figured, I'd better report it.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Yup, I just emerge synced recently and I get the same result:

I'm going to go contact the hardened team. For now:

ebuild /usr/portage/sys-kernel/hardened-sources/hardened-sources-2.4.24-r3.ebuild digest

Should provide a temporary (though sloppy) solution. You should be ok and normally digests aren't bad for that sort of thing, but if you want to wait for the solution, that's ok too.

fixed
for those who don't want to wait for it to propagate
