Pitivi 0.15.2 no longer renders video when combined with modern versions of its dependencies. This version (and 0.14.1) is no longer supported by upstream, its project save format is not supported by their newer versions, and should likely be removed from the portage tree in order to save users from wasted time and effort. The error when the render button is clicked is Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/lib64/pitivi/python/pitivi/ui/mainwindow.py", line 236, in _recordCb self.showEncodingDialog(self.project) File "/usr/lib64/pitivi/python/pitivi/ui/mainwindow.py", line 227, in showEncodingDialog dialog = EncodingDialog(self, project) File "/usr/lib64/pitivi/python/pitivi/ui/encodingdialog.py", line 222, in __init__ self.createNoPreset(self.render_presets) File "/usr/lib64/pitivi/python/pitivi/ui/encodingdialog.py", line 229, in createNoPreset "acodec": get_combo_value(self.audio_encoder_combo).get_name(), File "/usr/lib64/pitivi/python/pitivi/ui/common.py", line 218, in get_combo_value return combo.props.model[active][1] IndexError: column index out of range
after it installs all kinds of bits[most] & pieces[some] are missing, so this does miss at least some correct dependencies. It definitly won't start, complaining about all kinds of gtk modules that are missing. although it won't complain during emerge & install happily. The current version is scrap, according to the website V0.92 is available and V1.0 is eminent.
This version is incompatible with later versions; if someone spends a few hours editing a video and then tries to render a finished video, it won't work, and later versions won't support the save file from this one. Since its obviously broken and a fix isn't likely to come, this ebuild should be removed.
Yes we get it, please stop pasting the same comment everywhere.
