Description Arc Riley 2013-11-25 00:02:20 UTC
Pitivi 0.15.2 no longer renders video when combined with modern versions of its dependencies.

This version (and 0.14.1) is no longer supported by upstream, its project save format is not supported by their newer versions, and should likely be removed from the portage tree in order to save users from wasted time and effort.

The error when the render button is clicked is

after it installs all kinds of bits[most] & pieces[some] are missing, so this does miss at least some correct dependencies.

It definitly won't start, complaining about all kinds of gtk modules that are missing.
although it won't complain during emerge & install happily.

The current version is scrap, according to the website V0.92 is available and V1.0 is eminent.
Comment 2 Arc Riley 2014-03-05 17:00:51 UTC
This version is incompatible with later versions; if someone spends a few hours editing a video and then tries to render a finished video, it won't work, and later versions won't support the save file from this one.

Since its obviously broken and a fix isn't likely to come, this ebuild should be removed.

Yes we get it, please stop pasting the same comment everywhere.
