In portage versions of the program 3.0, 4.0 and 5.0, while on developer.amd.com ONLY 6.0

Reproducible: Always

Yes, we need it. At least for app-misc/ddccontrol. I don't know if the bitcoin miners really need it.

BFGMiner hasn't needed it for a *long* time. As I understand it, cgminer has removed OpenCL support recently, so also shouldn't need it.

Manuel, would you like to take over maintenance?

Okay I've added you as the principle maintainer.  I've removed Luke-jr, and I'll stick around as secondary maintainer.

Hmm, side question: would ddccontrol compile with my free ADL-replacement headers? Maybe I should be splitting those out?

6.0 is stable. Older versions have been removed.
