Please, add a such statement to src_prepare section of the ebuild. It would make adding own patches much easier.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. put user-provided patch to /etc/portage/patches/app-emulation/virtualbox/my.patch
2. emerge app-emulation/virtualbox
Actual Results:  
The patch doesn't apply

Expected Results:  
The patch applies
