I was having trouble pulling timestamp data from this rsync mirror you posted below. Please post a comment to this bug if the machine is indeed up and still able to provide rsync for Gentoo, or if you are unable to mirror. Thanks!

Hi Jeffrey,

yes the server is still up and running, the last cron just finished:

Started update at Tue May 18 09:00:00 CEST 2004

What could cause the 'problem' pulling timestamp data? As I´m still new to the mirroring-concept some hint´s could help so I could check this out ;-)

For some reason I'm still having trouble pulling a timestamp from your machine. When I try I get this error message:
@ERROR: chroot failed
rsync: connection unexpectedly closed (278 bytes read so far)
rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(189)

Hi,

oops detected an error in my rsync config. I was just able to sync from my local gentoo machine to the server without any problems ;-)

Thanks for helping out Gentoo. I have added the IP you specified in the bug to our access database, please start synching to rsync1.us.gentoo.org per our Rsync document at http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/rsync.xml. After a period of days I will check to make sure the timestamps are up to date and then add you into the appropriate rotation. We would like you to subscribe to the gentoo-mirrors Mailing List by sending an email to gentoo-mirrors-subscribe@lists.gentoo.org, as we send our notifications of updates, releases, and changes in policy to the mirrors. Once again, thanks for the hardware and bandwidth!

For Infrastructure,
Jeffrey

Hi Jeffrey,

just changed my config, should sync to rsync1.us.gentoo.org now with the next cron ;-)

You have been added into the rsync.de.gentoo.org rotation as rsync18.de.gentoo.org. Thanks for helping out Gentoo with the hardware and bandwidth!
