webcleaner init script
Comment 3 Jens Gutzeit 2004-04-27 23:21:54 UTC
I've created the 2 attachments, first the ebuild and the init script, but there are 2 things where I'm not quite sure if this is good/correct.

1. The certificate creation, I wasn't able to run the webcleaner-certificats in the sandbox, got some exceptions from the i18n module, so I put a einfo into the ebuild to tell the user he has to run this script by hand.

2. webcleaner prints some messages from python (warnigs and similar) to stderr, the original runscript was runit specific and uses svlogd, to log those message, but I think it's not a problem since this log should be only relevant if there are startup errors due to coding bugs.

ebuilds for webcleaner 2.11, 2.12 and 2.13 plus the init script

This is the ebuild for webcleaner 2.13 including the init-script from above.

**BUT** : I can not get it working due to (i18n ?) errors ("OSError: [Errno 2]
No such file or directory: 'usr/share/locale'")

(same error, for the above ebuild and "pure" install, but no errors on
install...)
Maybe there's some python-gettext related dependency missing ?!

Nils, please do *NOT* attach tarballs to bugzilla. You need to break out just the ebuilds and necessary patches (*NOT* digests or changelogs) and reattach them as PLAINTEXT please.

This is the webcleaner 2.13 ebuild

This is the ebuild for Webcleaner 2.13 -- same as 2.11 except some
dependencies.
But still problematic (see above).
Comment 7 Ed Wildgoose 2004-06-17 01:56:24 UTC
The error about
No such file or directory: 'usr/share/locale'")
goes away if you run the prog from the root directory. If you check the config files they don't have a "/" at the start of all the paths (which causes the problem)

Look in /usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/_webcleaner2_configdata.py
at the first few lines to see the problem. I'm not sure where this gets created though?

Hi,

the trailing/leading path problems should be solved in version >= 2.19.

Regards,
  Bastian

webcleaner 2.27 ebuild

This is a very slightly tweaked ebuild due to the case of some of the
dependencies changing.

This latest version seems to fix the install problems and builds cleanly. I
for one would like to register my interest in seeing this committed to portage
now (please).

Thanks

(this is an automated message based on filtering criteria that matched this bug)

Hello, The Gentoo Team would like to firstly thank you for your ebuild
submission. We also apologize for not being able to accommodate you in a timely
manner. There are simply too many new packages.

Allow me to use this opportunity to introduce you to Gentoo Sunrise. The sunrise overlay[1] is a overlay for Gentoo which we allow trusted users to commit to and all users can have ebuilds reviewed by Gentoo devs for entry into the overlay.
So, the sunrise team is suggesting that you look into this and submit your
ebuild to the overlay where even *you* can commit to. =)

Because this is a mass message, we are also asking you to be patient with us. We anticipate a large number of requests in a short time.

Thanks,
On behalf of the Gentoo Sunrise Team,
Jeremy.

Closing as the bug is really old. Last commit to upstream's VCS in 2010.
