Description Daniel Black (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-04-26 20:13:49 UTC
David has made some significant contributions to the work of catalyst in the embedded project. He is acknowledged as the catalyst expert in the embedded arena and has a skill set that is required to get the embedded project going.

He has also contributed/instigated to the discussions on gentoo-dev with on multiple installations on the same host, the use of $ROOT, portage features and cross compulation, and other topics critical to the formation of an embedded Gentoo.

David has good bash skills and a growing ability to use python. His contributions to bugzilla have illistrated his bash/debugging skill.

In David's posession is a number of embedded devices have enabled him to gain familarity that will aid the development of the embedded project.

Please grant him dev status so his work will be available to all gentoo users.

recruiters@
Is there anything you need from us?
I assume you have copies of copyright, quiz, gpg keys, ida_{r,d}sa.pub etc..

This future embedded developer is scheduled to go live on May 10th.
Comment 2 Deedra Waters (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-05-07 16:36:14 UTC
Solar, no, we have not gotten his quiz as of yet that I have seen. I do not see it in my inbox.
info for recruiting is here: http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/devrel/recruiters
Once I have the copyright, quiz, keys, etc, then I can process him.

Please do not attach things to the bug, send your stuff to recruiters@gentoo.org

I was told that attaching was the official method of submission. Should I 'resend' everything to recruiters ?
Comment 7 Deedra Waters (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-05-11 15:45:11 UTC
Yes, please email copyright, keys, and quiz to recruiters@gentoo.org

I've got this one...
Comment 9 Jason Huebel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-05-12 18:11:11 UTC
done. I rule.
Comment 10 Bryan Østergaard (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-10-02 14:58:48 UTC
David hasn't been active for a long time except for occasional advice on irc and
mailinglists according to solar. The only commit I see from mutex is from 2004
and I don't see any recent bugzilla activity either.
Comment 11 David Bryson (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-10-13 13:30:58 UTC
Hi guys, thought i'd speak up.

I spoke briefly with kloeri about my commits to gentoo code repository and not
much has my name on it because at the time I was committing zhen was hold onto
control of catalyst. There is a few commites like this:

revision 1.8
date: 2005/01/13 00:04:49; author: zhen; state: Exp; lines: +110 -3
branches:  1.8.2;
kernel building patch for embedded from mutex@gentoo.org (bug #76542)
----------------------------

Defintely haven't been active in gentoo for 6 months. And haven't commited any
code since early 2005. I switched jobs in april from doing embedded development
to doing system integration stuff. At any rate I have another job lined up to
do embedded development again, where I will be using gentoo and no doubt
developing embedded gentoo some more. But that will take place some time in the
next 6 months.

Anyway, if and when that point comes I want to avoid having to go through the
whole dev process again just to commit some changes and bug fixes. If I have to
do it again then I have to, but it would be nice to avoid it.

Would like to be notified before my account is disabled so I can clean out the
files in my ~/pub.

David, we're going to retire you as you've been inactive for so long.
