When playing flac files with JuK, Noatun or Kaboodle the track position bar doesn't move and any attemt to seek within the file causes playback to cease. The only way to restart playback is to press stop, then play which starts the file from the beginning again. Also if the pause function is used it is impossible to restart playback without pressing stop and starting from the beginning again. Seek and pause work fine for me with ogg and mp3 files. I'm sure my flacs are encoded properly to allow seeking, they have a seektable, and xmms and mplayer handle seeking and pause/resume fine with them. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open a flac file in Juk, Noatun or Kaboodle and start playback 2. Move teh seek bar; or press "pause" folowed by "play" 3. Actual Results: playback ceases Expected Results: If I move the seek bar I expect the playback seek to the specified location. If I press "pause" then "play" I expect playback to restart at the point of the "pause" emerge info Portage 2.0.50-r6 (default-x86-1.4, gcc-3.3.2, glibc-2.3.2-r9, 2.4.25-gentoo) ================================================================= System uname: 2.4.25-gentoo i686 AMD Athlon(TM) XP 1700+ Gentoo Base System version 1.4.9 distcc 2.13 i686-pc-linux-gnu (protocols 1 and 2) (default port 3632) [enabled] Autoconf: sys-devel/autoconf-2.58-r1 Automake: sys-devel/automake-1.8.3 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CFLAGS="-march=athlon-xp -O3 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" COMPILER="gcc3" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.2/share/config /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/share/config /usr/share/texmf/dvipdfm/config/ /usr/share/texmf/dvips/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/generic/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/platex/config/ /usr/share/texmf/xdvi/ /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-march=athlon-xp -O3 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoaddcvs ccache distcc sandbox userpriv usersandbox" GENTOO_MIRRORS="ftp://ftp.gtlib.cc.gatech.edu/pub/gentoo http://gentoo.oregonstate.edu http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/gentoo" MAKEOPTS="-j4" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/portage" SYNC="rsync://muck/gentoo-portage/" USE="3dnow X aalib acl alsa apm arts avi berkdb cdr crypt cups dvd dvdr encode faad fbcon ffmpeg fftw flac foomaticdb gdbm gif gphoto2 gtk gtk2 guile imlib java jpeg kde ldap libg++ libwww lufsusermount mad mikmod mmx motif mozilla mpeg ncurses nls oggvorbis opengl oss pam pdflib perl png python qt quicktime readline samba scanner sdl slang spell sse ssl svga tcltk tcpd tetex tiff truetype usb v4l x86 xinerama xml2 xmms xv zlib"
oops; Guess it would be a good idea to give the package version. kde-base/kdemultimedia-3.2.1
Maybe you're hitting these ones: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=79054 http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=79831
That looks like it.
upstream bugs look to be fixed in 3.3
