pygtk is instaled. but uzbl seems to have problem to fine it. pygtk is python2 only - could this be the problem ?

Yeah, had the same issue. The fix is to change the first line in uzbl-tabbed from #!/usr/bin/env python to #!/usr/bin/env python2
