I emerged xnview 1.68. After installing xnview failed on launch complaining to not be able to find libformat.so. I examined the installed files in /opt/XnView and in the lib directory is a broken link named libformat.so pointing to libformat.so.3.*. But the shipped libformat is libformat.so.4.16. Adjusting the symlink fixes thye problem.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. as root: emerge /usr/portage/x11-misc/xnview/xnview-1.68.ebuild
2. start new shell as user
3. execute: xnview

Actual Results:  
xnview showed error that libformat.so cannot be found.

Expected Results:  
launch
