On cfd-online there is a solution for making paraFoam work with ParaView 4:

I have attached patches making paraFoam work with ParaView 4 from the portage tree. At the moment a ParaView version 4.0.x is required, because its hardcoded in openfoam-2.2.2-paraview40.patch. I think we should make it more flexible to ease updating in the future, but I am not an expert in writing ebuilds.
