Anytime a major arch has a stable within mozilla products minor archs can follow for future reference.

Hey, I'm the admin of the Alpha dev machine.

- What CONFIG symbol do you mean? The answer is probably no.
- If the ebuild (or one of its USE flags) _depends_ on that symbol, it should check for it and emit a useful error message.

Has nothing to do with the ebuild, it has to do with if PT or XT flags are requested in make.conf. If XT is requested then you must have PAX_XATTR_PAX_FLAGS.

That is not a CONFIG option for the kernel I see (vanilla 3.12.2). Can you elaborate?

It looks like PAX is a patchset that is part of gentoo-sources. Since we run vanilla on the dev machine for various reasons, the symbol can't ever be available and I suspect the same is true for many user systems. You mention that we "request XT", but I am aware of no such thing. If you want, I can give you access to the dev machine and explore yourself. Just send me a signed GPG mail with your SSH pubkey.

I can use.stable.mask tracker[thunderbird] if needed... but since this doesn't look to be strictly a problem with alpha but some kind of problem with the pax setup :/
