Christian wants to join the gentoo team to help out with samba. I think that he and mglauche can work as a team and help keep samba going and up to date. Christian also has some kernel experience. He says that he's not an expert, but I think that johnm should talk to him, he could be useful for kernel x86 :) I'll act as his mentor through the new dev process. I'm cc'ing johnm and mglauche on this ebuild so they can get to know him as well.
I'm waiting on him to let me know what his bugzilla login is so that I can cc him on this bug or he can cc himself on it. By the way, his training period will be 2 weeks I think. I might move it back to 1, but unsure as of yet.
Christian, come talk to me on irc please.:)
did a little contribute on bugs 38190 and 49463. Also noted that most of the new/open bugs are 'nearly resolved': waiting for a little more testbed with a specific application interfacing with samba, or just to be committed to cvs. By now, i'm studying the quiz on http://dev.gentoo.org/~avenj/quiz and creating the gpg key for copyright assigment submission.
Neither of you have been on IRC in over a week. It's hard to get to know you this way. Also, have either of you seen the open samba bugs on our bugzilla yet? please look at bugs assigned to bug-wranglers@gentoo.org for a list of samba bugs, and please post fixes. For any fixes/solutions you post, please cc me and mr_bones_@gentoo Thanks.
I'm sincerly a bit puzzled: i was on #gentoo-laptop and #gentoo-dev all over last week (save sunday): is there something to be done beside the login on channel to be made visible? Me and mlglauche saw the open bugs, but could not change the bug status, even when we tried to post some fixes. So, the bugs are still marked as new... Latest contribs are on 50475 and 48871. This one should resolve 9-10 open bugs (numbers are in 48871). There are still a couple open issues on kerberos and ldap, but i will need time or external testing to investigate properly HTH, Christian
Christian, we still need your quiz and copyright and public ssh keys from youu. o we can get you through the new dev process.
I sent it yesterday to recruiters@gentoo.org I'm sending you a copy now
sorry, my dsl broke this week, need to wait for replacement modem to be on irc again. Will send out the application things later today.
christian, please report to IRC immediately so we can set you up. /msg me (I'm seemant) as soon as you arrive.
dev.g.o, bugz alias, cvs.g.o and #gentoo-dev all done -- he needs to be subscribed to -core then I'll do an intro. Deedra would you do the honours?
sascha did the honours -- deedra, if you could hostmask him, that'd be great, babe. Otherwise, fixed in portage thanks for the patch.
His cloak is set
Christian didn't show any activity in CVS since Aug 01, 2006 and no bugzilla acitivity since 2006-08-22. He is inactive on freenode for three years. His only roll-call role is "SAMBA" but he's not listed as a member of this herd in herds.xml (nor any other herd). I'm starting retirement procedure.
Second mail sent today.
No signs of life for more than a month. Infra, please start retiring Christian.
Infrastructure side of retirement has been processed. Sorry for the delay.
Forums done.
- Cleaned up all proj/ entries with retire.py
- Removed gentoo/developer/cloak - There was no access to #gentoo-dev
planet done
- herds.xml done - metadata.xml done It's all done.
