I wrote up a new HOWTO based on the thread in the forums. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Created attachment 29915 [details] the colinux howto Used the forums to build it.
Thanks for the HOWTO. I've changed the following stuff: - Changed the "new windows daemon" to "windows daemon" so that the guide doesn't get obsoleted after a week :) - <warn>'s should have <body> as parent, not <p> - Changed some sequence of <impo> ... <note> to <p> ... </p> (we don't want to have our documents be named "colorbooks". Use <note>/<impo>/<warn> sporadically - <pre>'s should have <body> as parent, not <p> - <ul>'s should have <body> as parent, not <p> - Applied coding style - Use plural (we recommend) instead of single (I recommend). This makes the document be more integrated and "official" :) - Fixed some language issues - Changed the comments inside the xml code listings to be <!-- ... --> Apart from that, nice howto. I'm just waiting for some "yes"'es from the other authors to place the doc under cc-by-sa before I'll link it.
janlaur already agrees on it: """ Yes you can publish it. It's always nicer to have a official guide, and i would be proud to be part of that """ Still waiting for the other acknowledgment.
I seem to be unable to contact IWBCMAN on the forums, I'll try a couple of times more. Without his approval I cannot put the document under the cc-by-sa license.
Okay, got it. """ I would be honored to have stuff included in a gentoo-colinux HOWTO. Moreover I have never released anything via the Creative Commons before. So please feel free to use my posts in the formation of your HOWTO. """ Linked from main index.
