Description John Smith 2013-10-12 11:51:19 UTC
On FVWM 2.6.5  Linux-3.8.13-gentoo-x86_64-Intel-R-_Pentium-R-_CPU_G2020_@_2.90GHz-with-gentoo-2.2

Topic: If wicd removed from default runlevel; thunar stops to mount the (ntfs) partitions AUTOMATICALLY.
Now I am using wpa_supplicant to connect to my wifi.

[I] gnome-base/gvfs
     Available versions:  1.12.3-r1 ~1.14.2 ~1.16.3^t {afp archive avahi bluetooth bluray cdda doc fuse gdu gnome-keyring gnome-online-accounts gphoto2 gtk +http ios mtp samba systemd test +udev udisks}
     Installed versions: 1.12.3-r1(05:44:26 AM 07/21/2013)(avahi bluetooth cdda gdu http samba udev -afp -archive -bluray -doc -fuse -gnome-keyring -gphoto2 -ios -udisks)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.tried different changes in /etc/conf.d/netmount such as explicitly rc_need="wicd" or even rc_need="wpa_supplicant" and rc_need="net.wlp5s0" ---> Didn't work
2.tried c_depend_strict="NO" in /etc/rc.conf ---> didn't work
3.Re-emerge ing the  gnome-base/libgdu-3.0.2  USE="avahi -doc -gnome-keyring" ---> didn't work

Actual Results:
No joy in any of the steps and still wpa_supplicant cant meet the requirment of thunar and GVFS:
 GVFS-RemoteVolumeMonitor-WARNING **: invoking IsSupported() failed for remote volume monitor with dbus name org.gtk.Private.GduVolumeMonitor: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.Spawn.ChildSignaled: Process /usr/libexec/gvfs-gdu-volume-monitor received signal 6

Comment 1 John Smith 2013-10-12 11:58:38 UTC
GVFS should be able to work with wpa_supplicant

wicd isn't needed at all, what is the exact output of:
/usr/libexec/gvfs-gdu-volume-monitor
?

I guess we need to know emerge -Opv udisks:0 udisks:2 dbus output, also maybe rebooting could help (to get dbus restarted cleanly)

Comment 8 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2013-12-24 13:37:26 UTC
Please retry with a fully updated system with latest gvfs
