Very odd, I can't duplicate this here at all. What dependency am I forgetting to include in the package that I already have on my box?...
Comment 4 Frank Krömmelbein 2013-10-11 23:29:11 UTC
Hi,

a rebuild of the already installed version 1.4.1-r2 now failed with the same error...
I have succesfully installed version 1.4.1-r2 on Sept. 3, info from my emerge.log file.

But i have found the root cause of this problem:
Installed actual stable version of dep.
sys-boot/gnu-efi-3.0s

after update to ~ARCH Version of sys-boot/gnu-efi-3.0u, app-crypt/efitools-1.4.2-r1 now compiles now.

So i would suggest to raise the dependcy.
Comment 5 Herbert Wantesh 2013-10-15 01:10:57 UTC
same for me sys-boot/gnu-efi-3.0u is needed to get efitools-1.4.2-r1 compiled

please add it as dependency

PING!

I just run again into the same problem on a fresh installation...

Also https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=496492 is a doublet of this error.

PLEASE raise the dependency of sys-boot/gnu-efi !

Confirm: _all_ efitools ebuilds from tree fail to build with sys-boot/gnu-efi-3.0s, after updating to sys-boot/gnu-efi-3.0u build works fine.

should be all set now in the tree; thanks for the report!
