Acerhk is a driver which enables certain features on Acer and Acer-like laptops. These features include special/multimedia keys, mail- and wireless leds. On some laptops lighting the wireless led also enables the wireless subsystem. Among the 'Acer-like' laptops this driver supports are some Medion and Fujitsu-Siemens models. Ronald

what about the status of that ebuild?
Created attachment 34869 [details] A better and updated version of acerhk ebuild: acerhk-0.5.13.ebuild
acerhk-0.5.8.ebuild (new package) Why don't you include this in portage?
I agree. Acerhk should be in portage! BTW. Acerhk 0.5.13 is out. Anyone who had problems with their acerhk and Acer Travelmate 240 series should try that release!
Typo: that should be "240 series notebooks" ;-)
Update: acerhk 0.5.14 has just been released. URL: http://www.informatik.hu-berlin.de/~tauber/acerhk/ (bug reporter, please, update :))
In Portage.
Update: acerhk 0.5.16 has just been released.
Current ebuild works fine for 0.5.16. Actually, it works better for me, since current portage version of 0.5.14 (the one on gentoo mirrors) ebuild has dummy debug driver compiled in by default, which doesn't seem to be the best. Seems to be fixed in 0.5.14 version on homepage now (so it doesn't match digest). It's probably not worth opening another bug though.
