I tried this with both XMame 0.81.1 and 0.80.1: nvidia-glx - 1.0.5336-r2 nvidia-kernel - 1.0.5336-r2 Fails at all color depths (-b xx). Without -noartwork switch, xmame window launches and is black/empty with no text, and no keys. Pressing TAB here causes a segmentation fault. With -noartwork switch, xmame window launches with xmame info screen (Game information, and "Press Any Key.") Pressing a key at this point results in a black/empty screen. Tab will bring up the configuration menu, here, however. When aborting the blank screen with ESC, I get a gentle exit with no errors: GLmame v0.94 - the_peace_version , by Sven Goethel, http://www.jausoft.com, sgoethel@jausoft.com, based upon GLmame v0.6 driver for xmame, written by Mike Oliphant > xmame -noartwork ./astdelux.zip (All vector games are broken, however). I tried re-emerging xmame, as well as the NVIDIA GLX package. Still no luck. Same problem with 0.82.1?
Unfortunately, yes, the problem continues with 0.82.1, except now: earom ctrl: 00:00 cpu #0 (PC=000079C7): unmapped program memory byte write to 00002004 = FE (The second line repeats over and over, forever) - this occurs after the "Press Any Key" screen.
This still happens with 0.83.1 btw. Continues to work fine with the SDL version of xmame.
Added upstream bugzilla link so I can find it easier.
Try the 6106 drivers perhaps?
