Just ran into the same problem... if i compile gstream-1.2.0 manual it generates the Gst-1.0.gir file and i can copy it to /usr/share/gir-1.0 and gst-plugins-dvb-1.2.0 compiles fine so it looks like emerge gstream-1.2.0 dose not generate the Gst-1.0.gir file
I have the same problem.

You can compile this pkg no problem provided that you compile the gstreamer with "introspection" use-word.
I add --enable-introspection=no to configure string and then it compiles.
--disable-introspection sounds like candidate to be added to gstreamer_multilib_src_configure.
Or actually just to failing package as it seems it's not gsteamer-common configure option.
1.4.5 doesn't seem to have this problem or, at least, the plugin looks to build fine even when gst-plugins-bad package was built without introspection support. Can you retest?
I've just tested. It still builds only when I add --enable-introspection=no to configure.
Hint: 1. USE="-introspection" emerge =media-libs/gstreamer-1.4.5 Gst-1.0.gir will not generate -> USE="-introspection" emerge media-libs/gst-plugins-bad will compile but USE="introspection" emerge media-libs/gst-plugins-bad will produce an emerge error, because it looks for Gst-1.0.gir same with Packet media-plugins/gst-plugins-dvb 2. USE="introspection" emerge =media-libs/gstreamer-1.4.5 will generate Gst-1.0.gir -> USE="-introspection" emerge media-libs/gst-plugins-bad or USE="introspection" emerge media-libs/gst-plugins-bad and media-plugins/gst-plugins-dvb will compile without errors. terrible error ;-)) Maybe it will help. Regards
This was fixed in gst-plugins-bad 1.6 bump by having gst-plugins-bad[introspection] depend on gstreamer and gst-plugins-base introspection. I had completely forgotten to update this ticket. Thanks for reporting.
