I ever get this message when emerging gnupg and wonder if something is missing: --- * Messages for package app-crypt/gnupg-2.0.21-r1: * If you wish to view images emerge: * media-gfx/xloadimage, media-gfx/xli or any other viewer * Remember to use photo-viewer option in configuration file to activate * the right viewer. --- But then: how to view motion pictures? Really I don't get it: How is a photo-viewer related to gnupg? Reproducible: Always
http://www.gnupg.org/documentation/manuals/gnupg/GPG-Configuration-Options.html http://www.gnupg.org/documentation/manuals/gnupg/OpenPGP-Key-Management.html Search for photo in these documentation pages and it will become clear; in short, you can add a JPEG photo to your public key which others can then view. Other formats than JPEG appear not to be supported.
We should not add documentation for handling very special features to our portage messages. To this case seems like if installing vim you give the message: If you want to program don't forget to install gdb as debugger. Really unrelated to admin the setup of a machine, which is what messages should relate to: the emerging of the overall setup! All over the place these weird portage messages this comes to the disadvantage nobody will read this stuff anymore ...
... and we suffer in the forums: We need to give advice for things that are clearly stated in portage messages ...
I'll assign for them to consider, maybe this could move to README.gentoo.
The names of the packages is genetoo specific so there is some sense in keeping this, the instructions of usage should be acquired from upstream documentations.
