Hi,

When I have merged
x11-misc/xscreensaver-5.22
net-im/skype-4.2.0.11-r1
Skype notifications don't work. For example I cannot answer the call, I hear the sound notifying me about the call, but the pop-up doesn't appear.

uname -a:
Linux szldlc 3.10.10-gentoo #10 SMP Mon Sep 23 13:08:05 CEST 2013 x86_64 Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3230M CPU @ 2.60GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux

DE: Xfce4
xfce-base/xfce4-meta-4.10

I've just unmerged and masked xscreensaver, I found this workaround here:

It's a feature of x11-misc/xscreensaver that it does *not* let any other programs paint their output on the root window. Allowing other programs to print to the root window would constitute an information exposure and thus a security vulnerability. So xscreensaver is doing its job quite nicely here.

Even if it's not active?

You mean when xscreensaver isn't running?

Yes, I move the mouse, I work on my PC, I hear someone calling me on skype, but I cannot answer, I don't even see who is it

Try to update your skype to 4.3.0.37. It should be working now.
