Description Scott Robert Ladd 2004-04-21 09:37:24 UTC
ghmical lacks the "amd64" keyword, but appears to run properly with gentoo-amd64.

I did an

emerge /usr/portage/app-sci/ghemical/ghemical-1.00.ebuild

And ran ghemical, tested a few molecules, etc.

I suggest add "amd64" to the keywords for this ebuild.

won't compile here...

Please provide output of "emerge info"

.Now I'm confused.

I've been busy, and hadn;t followed up on this until now.

Indeed, I *had* emerged ghemical -- all its parts are installed, but it no longer runs, giving me the following error:

ghemical: error while loading shared libraries: libg2c.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I try emerge ghemical again, and it fails during configure with:

checking for sc-config... /usr/bin/sc-config
checking SC - version... no
*** Could not run SC test program, checking why...
*** The test program failed to compile or link. See the file config.log for the
*** exact error that occured. This usually means SC was incorrectly installed
*** or that you have moved SC since it was installed. In the latter case, you
*** may want to edit the sc-config script: /usr/bin/sc-config
configure: error: Cannot find proper SC version

What the heck is sc-update? No man page, no comments in the script... and I can;t find a config.log related to ghemical, either.

If I run ./configure without arguments, it works, the program compiles, and it runs.

If I run ./configure with the --enable-mpqc switch (which is what the ebuild does), I get the "sc-config" failure.

My emerge info result is:

Any progress? If not, I'll close this since the app is masked anyway.

Never worked, closing.
