Description Julian Choquette 2004-04-20 19:07:34 UTC
pinkfloyd root # emerge shorewall
Calculating dependencies \
emerge: there are no masked or unmasked ebuilds to satisfy "sys-apps/iproute".

!!! Error calculating dependencies. Please correct.

When I cd to /usr/portage/sys-apps, I only see iproute2. Perhaps this is a typo in the ebuild?

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge shorewall or emerge -Dup world
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Unable to emerge shorewall or emerge world

Comment 1 Roger 2004-04-20 23:34:51 UTC
this is due to the DEPEND="sys-apps/iproute" within the shorewall ebuild files.

a quick fix is to rename it to the new naming format of iproute2 --> "DEPEND="sys-apps/iproute2"
Comment 2 Martin Holzer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-04-20 23:38:40 UTC
seems you have rsync issues

iproute is there

sys-apps/iproute-20010824-r5
Comment 3 Martin Holzer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-04-20 23:42:01 UTC
ok, not there
Comment 4 Bernd Wurst 2004-04-21 00:16:21 UTC
This bug also affects net-misc/vpnc ebuild.
Perhaps one should check dependencies before removing ebuilds. :-(

Quick fix is to add sys-app/iproute2, but that should be done in portage!

After syncing with rsync18:

12:39pm %> emerge -Dup world

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:
