linux binary created by compilation of usermode-sources hangs during "boot" at "NET: Registered protocol family 2". This is obvervable and repeatable on host systems with CPUs of higher frequency than 2.1 GHz. I have not personally diagnosed or found solution for this problem, rather came across this site via Google. Credit as appropriate should be given to site owner. Please see: http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=user-mode-linux-devel&m=107173525906273&w=2 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Execute latest usermode-sources on host with CPU>2.1 GHz 2.Observer hang during boot Actual Results: Hang at "NET: Registered protocol family 2" Expected Results: should "boot" root_fs image Applying patch at URL above fixed problem, although I could not apply patch as is. Rather, I manually edited usermode-sources to make appropriate changes. Once recompiled, uml linux binary executed as expected.
Could you please tell us what versions are you experiencing this problem on so we can apply the patch into Portage? Thanks!
