I suggest to mention proper alignment on
http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/handbook-x86.xml?part=1&chap=4#doc_chap4

# parted /dev/sda
unit MiB
...

This is essential for SSD harddiscs and not bad for other harddiscs.
