Description Michal 2004-04-20 12:44:50 UTC
Hi!

Overview Description:

As mentioned above bootstraping fails on my k6. It crushes in diffrent moments.
I don't think is a kernel fault because i've tryed instaling from livecd and from a runng redhat.

Steps to Reproduce:
 Just follow the handbook.
 I've first download the sources (scripts/bootstrap.sh -f) and proceeded bootstraping.

Additional Information:

I've tryed different flags last time they were CFLAGS="-O2 -mcpu=k6 -fomit-frame-pointer"
CHOST="i586-pc-linux-gnu"
USE="apache2 apm samba ssl -X -java"

I've also tryed "-march=k6" and without "-fomit-frame-pointer" - the same result.
I've tryed syncing wiht 2 different hosts, twice started installig from the very begining - no results.
There's a RH running on this hardware - there were no such problems.

my /proc/cpuinfo looks like this

Your machine seems to be running hot. Compiling (especially so many things) is a lot of work for the CPU. Make sure that your box has an adequate airflow. Maybe open the case to prevent a heat-congestion.

I am closing this one.
