Description repugnant 2004-04-20 10:21:58 UTC
When emerging gpgme it does not emerge libksba if it is missing. gpgme depends on libksba.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Unmerge libksba if it's installled
2. Emerge gpgme

Actual Results:
gpgme build fails

Expected Results:
It should have built libksba firswt.

what version? I found no error with version 0.3.14 or 0.4.0. Please include output. Older versions removed.
Comment 2 repugnant 2004-04-23 19:42:56 UTC
0.3.15 and 0.3.16. Version >=0.3.15 and <0.4.0 are required for PGP/Mime support in KMail.

Here gpgme-0.4.0 builds without problems without libksba around. It seems like gpgme needs newpg for S/MIME though, see bug 50681. I don't have it working yet, so maybe I need libksba, too ;-)

jrray - no offence - I'm stealing this one.

Although newgpg provides gpgsm so to the later versions of gnupg-1.9. See comments on bug 57193.

working on smime support in 0.9.0-r20+.

I want to remove most other gpgme version - see bug 57193.

kde-3.3 fixes smime stuff. Still needs to be stabled though.
bug 61102 may have the answers.

I can't see anything to fix at the moment.

gnupg-1.9 needs a lot of work to be become stable. (mainly upstream)

Attach emerge info just to show you are using smime use flags on these packages. - If gpgme version 0.3.14-r1 and gpgme-0.9.0-r1 solve the problems here let me know.
Comment 6 Daniel Black (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-09-12 03:32:56 UTC
I thinks smime stuff depend on libksba and this will occur when supported.

Closing for now. If there is anything wrong with version 0.3.14-r1 or 0.9.0+ tell me.
