This fails both with py2.7 and py3.3 because it can't parse an obviously valid setup.py (??!?)

setuptools version, please.
Comment 2 Michał Górny archtester Gentoo Infrastructure gentoo-dev Security 2013-09-11 08:28:57 UTC
Good news is that I can reproduce it. Bad news is that I can reproduce it and it's screwed up setup.py.

It's got:

        cmdclass = {'test': pytest},

while 'pytest' is a module. I think they meant 'PyTest' class they declare a few lines earlier. But then, they do import/reset to None logic that wouldn't get reproduced here, so it would need to be something like:

        cmdclass = {'test': PyTest if pytest else None},

Though I have no idea if 'None' here works, or if you need to omit the whole thing.

Then, it's supposedly fixed upstream:

https://bitbucket.org/mchaput/whoosh/src/default/setup.py?at=default#cl-47

Though the 'pytest' global import then seems totally pointless.

Last but not least, why does the ebuild pull dev-python/nose when it uses dev-python/pytest?

I'll attach a big patch for the ebuild.

Feedback:
1. we should bump to 2.5.3 (latest)
2. upstream switched from nose but we didn't follow
3. patch looks good to me. thanks, Michał.
4. full test suite for me on 2.6,2.7 and 3.3 passes. Perhaps close bug 454848 when committed?

Done, done and done. I also removed some older unstable versions. I'm closing this resolved fixed. Thanks everyone.
