This isn't the same as net-p2p/gift...
For me the ebuild don't work! I had to add "inherit eutils" at the beginning of the ebuild! Otherwise can't apply the patch! Bye

What happened to this ebuild? It is an optional dependency for KDE and enables extra functionality in Konqueror, it would be very nice to have, but it doesn't seem to be in portage at all. Gift 0.1.14 was released just 10 days ago, btw.
Any progress on this? Someone please add it.
I'm working on this with upstream.
<a href="http://gentoo-overlays.zugaina.org/philantrop/media-gfx.html.en#gift" title="http://gentoo-overlays.zugaina.org/philantrop/media-gfx.html.en#gift">This ebuild works for me</a> Maybe it could be added to the official portage tree?
(In reply to comment #14) heh, i thought it accepted html code.
Nevermind, now I'm just making an ass of myself.. KDE's Image indexing feature didn't work with this install: Couldn't open /home/steve/.kde3.5/share/apps/kmrml/mrmld-data//gift-indexing-data/My pictures//url2fts.xml: No such file or directory at /usr/bin/gift-add-collection.pl line 887 Just when it was finished this error appeared.
(this is an automated message based on filtering criteria that matched this bug) Hello, The Gentoo Team would like to firstly thank you for your ebuild submission. We also apologize for not being able to accommodate you in a timely manner. There are simply too many new packages. Allow me to use this opportunity to introduce you to Gentoo Sunrise. The sunrise overlay[1] is a overlay for Gentoo which we allow trusted users to commit to and all users can have ebuilds reviewed by Gentoo devs for entry into the overlay. So, the sunrise team is suggesting that you look into this and submit your ebuild to the overlay where even *you* can commit to. =) Because this is a mass message, we are also asking you to be patient with us. We anticipate a large number of requests in a short time. Thanks, On behalf of the Gentoo Sunrise Team, Jeremy.
