Description Christophe PEREZ 2013-09-07 16:13:58 UTC
2 days ago, emerge -DauN world made me recompile net-nntp/inn-2.5.3-r2 :
     Thu Sep 5 19:20:32 2013 >>> dev-python/python-exec-0.3.1
     Thu Sep 5 19:20:46 2013 >>> dev-java/java-config-2.1.12-r1
     Thu Sep 5 19:20:55 2013 >>> virtual/perl-libnet-1.230.0
     Thu Sep 5 19:22:28 2013 >>> dev-libs/libxml2-2.9.1-r1
     Thu Sep 5 19:23:22 2013 >>> dev-libs/libxslt-1.1.28-r1
     Thu Sep 5 19:23:37 2013 >>> x11-proto/xcb-proto-1.8-r1
     Thu Sep 5 19:25:02 2013 >>> dev-vcs/subversion-1.7.13
     Thu Sep 5 19:26:23 2013 >>> net-nntp/inn-2.5.3-r2
     Thu Sep 5 19:26:37 2013 >>> net-analyzer/fail2ban-0.8.10
     Thu Sep 5 21:52:43 2013 >>> virtual/python-argparse-1
     Thu Sep 5 21:52:57 2013 >>> app-admin/eselect-1.3.6
     Thu Sep 5 21:53:49 2013 >>> net-p2p/mldonkey-3.1.3

And now, each night, the cron /etc/cron.daily/inn-daily (launching /usr/lib/news/bin/news.daily delayrm) give me an error result by email :
Subject : innwatch warning: messages in /var/log/news/news.crit
Body :
-rw-rw-r-- 1 news news 49 7 sept. 10:37 /var/log/news/news.crit

cat: *.lock: Aucun fichier ou dossier de ce type

And that's true, /var/log/news/news.crit contains :
cat: *.lock: Aucun fichier ou dossier de ce type

And even if I empty this file, /usr/lib/news/bin/news.daily write again in it, and give the same error.

In the same time, inn works perfectly, as for years...
So I thinks that's just a small bug somewhere, but I don't understand why it happens now, after recompiling it, and not at the first install of this version.

I don't know if I explain very well, my english is not good.

well, it's probably harmless, but upstream should skip .lock files :/
