emerge --info output

The most recent stable version of net-misc/bridge-utils (1.4) does not build with sys-kernel/linux-headers-3.9 (also recent stable).
Unfortunately the emerge does not fail but installs only the man pages with no binary. Bad for remote server updates ;)

1.5 builds fine.

I have put a workaround in 1.4 to not break more systems, and filed a stablereq bug for 1.5, in bug 483892.

I think, a proper solution is to fix the upstream build system to report build errors instead of silently ignoring them.
Otherwise any future build failures may be left unnoticed for a long time and more workarounds would be needed.

I've filed a patch [1] to Bridge mailing list but haven't received any response yet.
I propose to apply the patch in ebuild until the fix is pushed upstream.
After that we can revert the workaround [2].
