Description Sascha Silbe 2002-07-10 18:55:20 UTC
Please add the iputils package, available from the same source as iproute. It includes important tools like ping6.
Thanks!

care to submit an ebuild for it?
Comment 2 Seemant Kulleen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-07-16 06:51:05 UTC
sascha?
Comment 3 Grant Goodyear (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-07-16 13:03:06 UTC
Added to CVS. I can't get the html docs to compile,
so I'm tossing this one back into the pool. (I
haven't masked the package, since it does seem
functional.)
Comment 4 Grant Goodyear (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-07-19 09:01:53 UTC
Whoops, I forgot to close it.
That's okay, since I would be reopening it anyway. *Sigh*
I thought I at least had the man pages building, but apparently
not. Anybody who knows anything about docbook _please_ jump
in here....

From an email I got today from Philipp Morger:
hi...

i just tried to install the "official ebuild" - but failed to do so...

I made my own ebuild a few days ago... and noticed that "make html" and
"make man" is heavly broken.... I posted the ebuild to the forum (I
dodn't submit it to bugs@ because it's just a
"quick-and-dirty"-ping6-thingee....
Comment 5 Sascha Silbe 2002-07-27 06:49:06 UTC
iputils needs (at least) app-text/docbook-sgml-utils. Please add that to the dependencies.
Comment 6 Sascha Silbe 2002-07-27 06:53:39 UTC
Just FYI: I've tried to create an ebuild for iputils, but also did not get the docs to work, so I gave that one up for now. I'll rather mess around with some easier packages first. :)
Comment 7 Matthew Turk (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-08-16 14:55:56 UTC
Added dependency; with newest DocBook changes, it should work.
