I am using nm-applet-0.9.8.2 under LXDE, with networkmanager-0.9.8.2-r3, net-misc/networkmanager-vpnc-0.9.8.2, and net-misc/vpnc-0.5.3_p527-r1, and I am running systemd-206-r3 as init. Since I updated my laptop about a month ago, nm-applet crashes upon connection to the university Cisco VPN. When I left-click on the nm-applet icon, then "VPN Connection", then the name of the vpn connection I wish to connect to, nm-applet first asks for the password. Then clicking OK results in a crash: (nm-applet:7406): libnotify-WARNING **: Failed to connect to proxy ** (nm-applet:7406): WARNING **: Failed to show notification: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.freedesktop.Notifications was not provided by any .service files Segmentation fault Reproducible: Always # emerge --info nm-applet Still valid with 0.9.8.8?
(In reply to Pacho Ramos from comment #2) > Still valid with 0.9.8.8? Yes, and networkmanager-vpnc is still at 0.9.8.6., FYI.
Please report this to upstream -> bugzilla.gnome.org, and paste there your latest backtrace with latest glib-2.36. Then, put the link here to let us track the issue
(In reply to Pacho Ramos from comment #4) > Please report this to upstream OK, will take me probably a week or two.

Well, I can no longer reproduce the problem. NM can connect fine to the VPN now, using nm-applet-0.9.8.8, networkmanager-0.9.8.8, networkmanager-vpnc-0.9.8.6, and vpnc-0.5.3_p527-r1. I don't recall changing anything but upgrading world. Thanks.
OK, thanks for feedback :)
