Created attachment 357138 [details] wxmupen64plus-0.3.ebuild In #482614, it is stated that GUI isn't more shipped with emulator Here is a frontend to mupen64plus. The build system is quite weird, it's static and requires full emulator source tree to be working (not only headers). So I needed to add the mupen64plus sources to SRC_URI, I don't like this too much and would be grateful if anybody has a better way of doing this.
This can be fixed http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=collab-maint/wxmupen64plus.git;a=blob;f=debian/patches/version_check.patch;h=e334cee790a808f101bec24472c0029db5a938e6;hb=refs/heads/master http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=collab-maint/wxmupen64plus.git;a=blob;f=debian/rules;h=20b48142e77c818be114f0e6492cc57fd4137f13;hb=refs/heads/master
And the 0.3 version is not for 2.0 (will crash on the audio tab for example... and some other funny effects). Also the current snapshot from hg is not for 2.0. See also https://groups.google.com/d/msg/mupen64plus/_bgdLASa4Cg/E-51R489iAoJ The author of wxmupen64plus just ignored the bug report and the regression from the mentioned commit (thus the current hg version is not any longer compatible with mupen64plus 2.0).
Created attachment 357370 [details] wxmupen64plus-0.3 directory tar Thanks for the links, I first patched the 0.3 with the debian patchset, the two mentionned fixes, and a prototype fix to fit mupen-2.0 API. (0.3 + patchset) Following #comment 3 Tried to compile from hg still having problems with sound panels. fixes are applied with sed, very ennoying for cvs version (9999) Following #comment 4 links Fixed the revision number to checkout. Sound panel is not more crashing, and sed fixes aren't more a big deal (even would be better to generate patches). Thanks for the link, was easy to point the last "working" revision.
Did you get any version of wxmupen64plus running? And what arch are you on? I'm trying both 0.3 with the patches and current hg HEAD and both crash on the 'audio' tab.
wxmupen64plus is dead and not for mupen64plus 2.0 There is a maintained gui called m64py but it seems it is nonfree software (until the author adds the missing source files): http://sourceforge.net/p/m64py/discussion/general/thread/1b691a53/?limit=50#5855 You can workaround the wxmupen64plus audio bug with the change https://bitbucket.org/auria/wxmupen64plus/commits/9ef498d45637e56e3cc1ba9dbf34b5abae3d8c8c (was removed by the maintainer because... who the hell knows) but this thing is dead and fails at many other things and will not get fixed (at least when judging from the current situation). Here is the statement of the author (2013-10-26): <Auria> I don't really have time/interest anymore to properly develop wxMupen64Plus, unfortunately.
I see. Considering that the input configuration doesn't work either, there's no real point in having it here.
