Description Timothy Miller 2004-04-18 11:39:56 UTC
I have a Radeon 9000 Pro connected to an LCD monitor via DVI. No matter what I do, I cannot get the X server to use any refresh rate other than 60Hz. Lots of places suggest that increasing refresh rate for LCD monitors helps with motion blur.

XF86Config will appear as an attachment.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Configure XF86Config for something other than 60Hz vertical
2. Start X server
3.

Actual Results:
Display always comes up at 60Hz.

Expected Results:
Come up at the refresh rate I specified.

Note: I have tried various methods for changing the refresh rate. One was to change the VertRefresh line. The other was to specify the refresh rate in the resolution name in the Screen section. Neither one had any effect.

The monitor's manual (It's a Planar PQ191) says it can do higher than 60Hz, and I get get it to work at higher than 60Hz in Windows just fine.

Please reopen and change the summary if this is still a problem with >=xorg-x11-6.8.0.
